What is The PENN
REPORT?
The PENN REPORT is a method of structuring expansion in a business
to obtain very significant tax savings in UK. It was developed by Michael
Penn, a Chartered Accountant and tax expert with years of experience.
PENN REPORTS usually involve
setting up a Limited Liability Partnership business and running it along
side your existing business. It's designed to take advantage of
existing HMRC tax legislation aimed at promoting innovation and creativity
in business.
But there is a little bit more to
it than that and it wouldn't be wise for me to go into too much detail here

When is The PENN
REPORT appropriate?
PENN REPORTS are
typically used where there is potential for additional profits to be
generated by a business doing something new and different.
For example, they may be aimed at new
marketing initiatives or product launches. They may also be used
by a business dealing with a new customer type or entering new markets,
rebranding or employing new channels to market (e.g. Internet, employing a
sales rep or using direct mail as a source of new business).
New Business Ventures are also a great opportunity for PENN
REPORTS. Setting up a new office, franchising your business,
introducing new technologies to your business processes or taking on
strategic suppliers/buyers are good examples of where PENN REPORTS can be
used to ring fence profits.
Acquiring assets, like machinery/buildings may also be considered for The PENN
REPORT, as can bringing in-house core services,
such as delivery, marketing or administration.
Lastly, PENN REPORTS can be used as a
low-risk method of testing and/or motivating a member of your management
team (or family).
In addition, PENN REPORTS may be
leveraged to reduce or remove other tax liabilities. Imagine

Why The PENN

For a start the sheer size of the

PENN REPORT. Typically, you get to keep over 85% of those
savings. And remember, it’s not a tax scheme so there’s no up front
cost, worry or hassle.
And think about it – most businesses are

nicely packaged, and can reduce the risks to your business.
As with all planning early action is
